J.A.Turner and Sons (1987) Ltd. Is a family owned sawmill located in West Northfield, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada. We have been producing quality lumber at this location for over40 years. The sawmill was started by brothers Owen and Harris Turner and has been operated by the Owen Turner family since1987. The sawmill is presently being operated by two of Owen’s children, Wade Turner and Gail Mercer.

Our sawmill consists of a circular saw carriage headrig and sharp chain chipper canter (added: 2007) primary breakdown lines. We also have a resaw and a planer complete with profiler which allows us to make a large list of products.

We are members of the Maritime Lumber Bureau (MLB), Forest Products Association of Nova Scotia (FPANS), and the Wood Products Manufacturers Association of Nova Scotia. We are also a Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) chain of custody sawmill through Nagaya forest
